Matt spent 5 years at Barclays followed by 10 years at RBS. During both spells, Matt worked within commercial banking. He left banking to set up a regulated brokerage business and 9 years later the business has grown to 22 employees covering the whole of the UK.

Matt specialises in working with private clients and wealthy families who have an offshore angle to their funding requirements. Typically, they have borrowing needs over £1,000,000. Matt is able to assist with traditional real estate financing as well as more specialised types of credit known as Lombard Loans (which is a line of credit often secured on bonds, investments, property or luxury assets).

His notable deals to date when working at Empire have been a £63m refinance of a property portfolio for a large family office in London, a complex £12.5m property portfolio refinance for a Saudi Arabian national with complex KYC requirements, a refinance of a luxury flat in Chelsea for a European client, again with complex KYC and a £20m+ loan for a construction company to buy their premises in London.

Much of his time away from work revolves around his two children. In his spare time, he is an avid follower of many different sports and enjoys going to the gym. He is also a keen Carp fisherman and has been since his early teens.
